Bronze aluminum pool enclosure frame and charcoal screen mesh beside a sunny Florida pool

A torn panel, faded mesh or years of patchwork can make a beautiful Connerton lanai look tired, and leave gaps for bugs, leaves and other unwelcome guests. It’s tempting to think pool cage rescreening is a simple swap. But Connerton has written standards for screened enclosures, including the frame and screen colors. A mismatched fix may look out of place, and changing the enclosure’s structure or appearance may call for ARC review before work begins.

Lily Luxe Rescreen serves Connerton and Land O’ Lakes with premium rescreening that takes the community’s bronze-frame and charcoal-screen standard seriously. We’ll discuss appropriate mesh options, stainless steel fasteners and a tight, secure fit, and provide a clear estimate so you can plan the project with confidence.

What Connerton’s standards actually say

The Connerton Homeowner Regulations, Restrictions and Standards, revised March 1, 2019, outlines specific requirements in Section 4.22. Here are the highlights:

  • Frame and screen: Bronze aluminum frame with charcoal screening.
  • Placement: The enclosure cannot extend beyond the rear corners of the house into the side yard or forward beyond those rear corners.
  • Roof: Hip, gable or mansard configurations are acceptable; arch, dome and shed configurations are not. Metal-pan roofs are prohibited. Insulated metal-panel roofs are allowed if the finish matches the house roof’s material and color.
  • Kick plates: Solid panels can be no more than 14 inches high. Except at the screen door, they must be buffered with hedge-type planting spaced 24–32 inches on center.
  • Height: Wall bearing height cannot exceed the home’s specified one-story bearing height.

Section 4.23 allows a taller-than-one-story enclosure variance only for certain lots in the custom Rose Pointe section, with signed acknowledgement letters from neighbors on either side and any additional neighbors the review board requires. That’s a narrow exception, not a general design option.

Important: The document was revised in 2019. Check with Connerton’s ARC or community association to confirm current forms, procedures and requirements before making project decisions.

Why a mismatched repair can be a trap

When a screen panel fails, the quick fix can seem obvious. But a few charcoal panels beside older gray or faded mesh can turn a small repair into a patchwork look. Repainting or changing a frame color without checking approval requirements may also create an avoidable compliance headache. And a DIY patch can leave uneven tension, loose edges or gaps that make the enclosure less effective.

Here’s the distinction: replacing worn mesh like for like in the existing bronze-and-charcoal look is different from changing frame color, enclosure dimensions, height, roof design or other structural features. The Connerton guide says exterior changes are subject to review, so don’t treat any repair as automatically exempt. A same-look rescreen may be the straightforward lane, but confirm with the ARC first if you’re unsure, or if the work changes more than the screen fabric.

For a faded, torn or loosely fitted enclosure, a professional pool screen enclosure repair can restore the clean, consistent appearance while helping keep insects and debris out of your family’s outdoor space.

What a compliant premium rescreen looks like

The goal is simple: refresh the enclosure without turning a rescreen into a redesign. Lily Luxe can help homeowners in Land O’ Lakes plan a project around Connerton’s bronze-and-charcoal standard, then explain the scope and product details before work begins.

A premium rescreen can include:

  • Charcoal mesh selected for your priorities, such as visibility, airflow, insect protection or added durability.
  • Bronze-friendly coordination to keep the finished look in step with the existing frame and neighborhood standard.
  • Stainless steel fasteners, when included in the project scope, for a durable, polished finish.
  • Tight, secure installation with careful attention to panel tension, spline channels, corners and doors.
  • Separate workmanship and material warranty details, explained in your estimate so you know what each warranty covers.

Mesh specifications and certifications vary by product line. A tighter weave may help screen smaller insects, for example, but can affect airflow and visibility. We’ll identify the actual product being proposed and review its manufacturer specifications rather than suggesting all mesh is the same, or making unverified health or safety claims.

A full lanai screen replacement can also be a good opportunity to address multiple damaged or aging panels together. A consistent finish often looks sharper than a collection of isolated patches.

The ARC request-before-work checklist

Section 4.1 of Connerton’s guide describes an Architectural Review Request Form and fee schedule for proposed improvements. It also calls for a lot survey and says pictures, brochures or other project information can help explain the request. The document directs residents to Connerton’s website for the request form and resources.

If your project involves a color or structural change, or you’re uncertain whether your planned work needs review, consider preparing:

  1. The Architectural Review Request Form and applicable fee information.
  2. A lot survey, as instructed by the form.
  3. Clear photos of the existing enclosure and the area where work is planned.
  4. A concise scope description, including whether the work is mesh-only or changes the frame, roof, height, placement or other structure.
  5. Mesh and color information, such as the proposed screen type and charcoal color, plus relevant product details or samples if requested.

Submit the request and get clarification or approval before work starts whenever review is required. For a like-for-like rescreen in the existing bronze-and-charcoal finish, contact the ARC if you want confirmation that your specific project is in the straightforward lane. A little homework now can spare you a “wait, that needed approval?” moment later.
